Season 4 of Grace kicks off tonight, with fans excited to see John Simm back in the title role – particularly after the jaw-dropping cliffhanger the previous batch of episodes ended on.

Doctor Who and Life on Mars icon Simm gives a compelling turn as DS Roy Grace, the lead character of Peter James's ever-popular crime novels, who is attempting to move forward with his life in season 4.

For years, he has been haunted by the unexplained disappearance of his first wife, Sandy (Clare Calbraith), but has found love once more with the now-pregnant Cleo (Zoë Tapper).

However, with Sandy re-emerging in the previous season, it seems this attempt at turning over a new leaf will be more difficult than Grace could ever have expected.

The fourth season has confirmed Robert Glenister as a major guest star for the premiere, with his icy character debuting in an exclusive clip shared to readers of RadioTimes.com.

In less exciting news, this will be the last season to feature Craig Parkinson as DS Norman Potting, after the Line of Duty actor confirmed he would be parting ways with the show after the finale. Here's hoping his character gets a proper send-off.
